PID controllers are widely used in many nonlinear and time-varying industrial control systems. However, PID controllers also have some shortcomings, such as slow adjustment speed, poor control effect, and poor system robustness. Therefore, some improved PID control methods have been proposed, and non-traditional system internal model PID control method is one of them.This paper introduces the basic principles and characteristics of the non-traditional system internal model PID control method, and conducts a detailed research and analysis on this control method. The paper summarizes the application of non-traditional system internal model PID control method in adaptive control systems, focusing on its application examples in power systems, robot control, and industrial process control systems.Keyword: PID control; non-traditional system internal model PID control; control effect; adaptive control.
