In the chromosome structure of higher plants, non-histone has a wide distribution and diverse organization forms, fully illustrating its important role in chromatin regulation. This paper first summarizes the basic concepts, composition and classification of non-histones; secondly, it introduces the main distribution of non-histones in the chromosome structure of higher plants, including HMTs, HATs, HDACs, locking factors, etc.; finally, it discusses the mechanism of non-histones, including the stability of chromatin structure, accessibility of chromatin, regulation of genes and other aspects.
