汉语言文学专业介绍及与英语的关系

The Chinese civilization, with the Chinese language as one of its elements which is worth studying， is extremely extensive and profound. The Chinese characters have been created since the Shang Dynasty。 After thousands of years' development and enrichment, Chinese is now the most used language around the globe。 As a undergraduate majoring in Chinese， my curricula is divided into two parts， the Linguistics and the Literature. First ,the Linguistics part 。 I have learnt about Contemporary Chinese which contains the study about pronunciation ， lexical knowledge and grammar of Chinese ， while acquiring the knowledge about the evolvement of characters as well as the comprehension and use of ancient Chinese in Ancient Chinese courses. Second，the Literature part。 It covers the study of literary masterpieces。the history of literature and the literature theory。 Through my 18 months of study， I learnt that words own the ability to express our sensibility； learning the ancient poems and verses contributes to cultivating our literary taste while helping us feel the charm of ancient words; reading literary works enables us to accumulate writing materials and enhance our writing ability; studying the literature theory conduces to develop our literary concept systematically.There are also other relative courses in Chinese major. For examples ， Interviewing and Writing in Journalism and Document Writing for instance impart us the foundamental skills 。 Speech and Eloquence make us appreciate the beauty and subtlety of speaking , We have learnt debating skills ， reciting method and so on。 English is the subject that we have been learning from childhood to adulthood。 As a language subject as well ，English have a great influence on the study of Chinese major 。 There is a Foreign Literature course offered for Chinese major students 。 Leaning English well can help us to comprehend foreign literature and read original work. After graduation,if you wants to get a good job , it is important to pass College English Test Band 4 and Band 6 . If you wants to work at Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, mastery of English can be as important as Chinese I Believe, in the near future, Chinese will be a universal language。
