It is the most entertaining and cohesive activity in Dragon Boat Festival, which is very popular in the south of China. It can be traced back to primitive society to sacrifice the god of water, or Dragon. In Chinese ancient culture, dragon is a lucky animal to bring suitable climate for the farmers. International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) was established in Hong Kong June 24, 1991. People all around world tale part in Dragon Boat Race in every year. In Queensland, Griffith Tourism Confucius Institute has held 3 Dragon Boat Races. In 2024, there are 20 groups participated in the race. In 2024, there will be 25 groups. Purpose: In order to promote friendship between the units, Australian Griffith Tourism Confucius Institute will organize "Dragon Boat Race" in Queensland with other units.Matters need attention:1.Every participant can swim.2.Emphasis on safety awareness and accident-related treatment before race.3.Each contestant must put on is equipped with life jackets and safety equipment on the boat
