EMERGENCYMANUALPolicies&ProceduresDIVISION:RMSDEPARTMENT:SecurityCODE:DATE:APPROVED:MDREVISION:SUBJECT:EvacuationproceduresPOLICY/PURPOSEToensurethesafeandorderlyevacuationofallguestsandemployees.PROCEDURE1.ThedecisiontoevacuatethehoteloraportionofthehotelwillbemadebytheHotelManager,theAssistantManager(CFW)ortheFireBrigade.2.Fireevacuationmustproceedwithouttheuseoflifts.3.OncetheexistenceofafirehasbeendeterminedandifevacuationisrequiredtheChiefFireWardencontactstheOperatorandstatesthelevelstobeevacuatedand/orthelocationofthefire.4.TheOperatorcontactstheFireBrigadeandthencallsorpages,theLiaisonOfficer,FloorWardens,SearchOfficer,andBellCaptaintoassembleatthebelldesk.TheOperatorwillthenplaytapeorbroadcastmessageasinstructed.5.TheLiaisonOfficeraccountsforandrecordsallFloorWardensandSearchandEscortOfficers.6.TheLiaisonOfficerlocksoffliftsatgroundfloorandissuestwowayradios,emergencykeys,chalk,andtorches.7.Thefireteam(FloorWarden,3SearchOfficers,2EscortOfficers,FireCrew,andLiftOperator)takesthefireservicelifttolevelbelowthatofthefireandproceedsviathestairwelltothereportedlocation.ROOMSDIVISIONPage1of12EMERGENCYMANUALPolicies&Procedures8.ThefireteamreportstotheCFWandondirectioncommenceEvacuationprocedures.ROOMSDIVISIONPage2of12EMERGENCYMANUALPolicies&ProceduresSUBJECT:EvacuationproceduresCODE:9.Workinginteamsoftwo,SearchOfficerscheckallguestroomsandmarkthedoortoindicatethattheroomhasbeenchecked:INOUTAsinglechalkmarkindicatessearchesinroomAcrossindicatessearcherisout10.TheFloorWardenreportssectioncleartotheCFW.11.TheFireteamthenproceedstotheassemblyarea.INDIVIDUALPROCEDURESChiefFireWarden(CFW)TheCFWwilltakeoverallcontroluntilthefirebrigadearrives.AllmanagementandemployeeswillrespondasdirectedbytheCFWinacalmandefficientmanner.TheCFWwillcarryoutthefollowingprocedure:1.UponnotificationofthefirealarmproceedtothefloorlocationwiththeInvestigationOfficer(IO).Ensurethata1.5kgextinguisher&torchiscollectedandcarriedtothescene.2.Acknowledgethealarmandnotethelocationasidentifiedbythefirepanel.3.ProceedtolocationwiththeIOanddeterminewhetherornotthereisafire.4.Incaseofafalsealarm,informtheTelephoneOperatorandLiaisonOfficer(LO).HOTEL–ROOMSDIVISIONPage3of12EMERGENCYMANUALPolicies&Procedures5.Whereafirehasbeenidentifiedsoundthenearest“breakglass”alarm,requesttheoperatortoinformthefirebrigadeandtoactivatethegrouppaginglistaspertheROOMSDIVISIONPage4of12EMERGENCYMANUALPolicies&ProceduresSUBJECT:EvacuationproceduresCODE:“CommunicationListforEmergency”.TheLOisthennotifiedonextension“6345”.TheCFWshouldadvisebothpartiesofthelocationandextentofthefire,andthelevelofevacuationrequired.6.Ifevacuationisrequired,meettheFloorWarden(FW)andSearchandEscortOfficersastheyarriveonthescene.7.Directtheevacuationprocedureensuringguestproceedviathefireexittotheassemblypoint,i.e.outsidetheEntranceoftheAlliedKajimaBuildingonGloucesterRoad.8.Oncetheevacuationiscompleteensureallmembersofthefireteamdepartthehotel.InformtheTelephoneOperatorandLiaisonOfficertoevacuateifrequired,thenproceedtotheassemblypoint.INVESTIGATIONOFFICER(IO)TheIOisresponsibleforassistingtheCFWinperformingalldutiestoensurethesafetyofhotelguestsandemployees.InadditionifsafetodosotheIOwillextinguishthefire.TheIOwillcarryoutthefollowingprocedure:1.UponnotificationofthefirealarmproceedtothefloorlocationwiththeCFW.Ensurethata1.5kgextinguisherandatorch...
