This paper analyzes the genetic formation of Jurassic heavy oil reservoir in Wuxia area from four aspects: regional geological characteristics, oil source quality, sedimentary environment and tectonic evolution, and draws the following conclusions: Jurassic heavy oil reservoir in Wuxia area is mainly composed of ancient plant residues. Sedimentary environment is mainly lakes, tectonic evolution experienced early cracking period and late compression period, thick oil formation is mainly affected by sedimentary material bonding and microbial metabolism.【Key words】 Wuxia area; Jurassic heavy oil reservoir; genetic formation;
