第1页共6页编号：时间：2021年x月x日书山有路勤为径，学海无涯苦作舟页码：第1页共6页UNIVERSITYOFMALAYASTUDENTEXCHANGEPROGRAMME(UMSEP)1.INTRODUCTIONTheincreasingfocusoninternationalizationofhighereducationhasmadestudyabroadprogramanessentialpartofauniversitylearningprocess.ThissignificantaspectoflearningismadepossibleattheUniversityofMalayathroughitsStudyAbroad-StudentExchangeprogram.UMStudentExchangeprogram(UMSEP)isdesignedforinternationalstudentswhowishtoacquiretheexperienceoflivingandstudyinginaMalaysiancampusthroughashort-termstudyprogram.Itaimsatfosteringinternationalunderstandingamongstudentsofdifferentnationalitiesbyprovidinganexcellentlearningenvironment.Throughtheprogram,studentsfromoverseascanpursuestudiesthroughtaughtcoursesorresearchintheirfieldofinterestandgainbroadperspectivesondifferentculturesandbackgroundoftheirpeers.2.DEFINITIONTheUMSEPisashort-termstudyprogramofferedtolocalandinternationalstudents.TheInternationalStudentCentre(ISC)willhandletheintakeofinternationalundergraduatestudentsonly.CategoriesofUMSEParelistedasfollows:I.StudentExchangeProgrammeUMSEPappliestostudentswhoareinterestedtospendatleastonesemesterandNOTMOREthanoneacademicsessionatUniversityofMalaya.Studentsenrollingunderthisprogramwillbepermittedtoregisterincoursesorresearchareasoftheirchoice(subjecttotherulesandregulationsgoverningtheprogram).UMSEPisopenedtoallundergraduatestudentsfromforeignuniversities.第2页共6页第1页共6页编号：时间：2021年x月x日书山有路勤为径，学海无涯苦作舟页码：第2页共6页ParticipationinUMSEPStudentsparticipatingintheprogrammaychoosetoenrolinoneormoreofthecoursesofferedduringthesemesterorsessionaslistedbelow:(a)Regularacademicundergraduatecourse.(b)Co-curriculumcourses(practicalcoursesintheareasofculture,artsandsports).(c)Supervisedindependentresearch.Studentsmayidentifytheirownchoiceoffacultymemberstobethesupervisor.HavingbasicMalayLanguageproficiencyisanaddedadvantagetostudentswhowishtoenrolinundergraduatecourses,asthemediumofinstructionformostofthecoursesistheMalayLanguage,especiallyinArtsbasedFaculties.ForthebenefitofstudentswhoarenotproficientinthelanguagetheymayregisterforcoursestaughtinEnglishonly.ForsciencebasedFaculties,themediumofinstructionisEnglishLanguage.3.ELIGIBILITYANDCONDITIONSOFADMISSION(a)Astudentmustbearegisteredstudentofanotheruniversity,localorabroad.(b)Astudentmustbeacademicallysuitablefortheundergraduatecourse/sorresearchtopicheisapplyingtotake.(c)AstudentwhoisinterestedintakingundergraduatecoursesintheartsbasedfacultiesmustbeproficientintheMalayLanguageinordertobenefitfromhisstudiessincethemediumofinstructionforArtsbasedfacultiesinUMistheMalayLanguage.(d)AUMSEPstudentshallbeadmittedforaperiodatleastonesemesterandNOTMOREthanoneacademicsessionatUniversityofMalaya.Thetotalnumberofcourses/credithoursregisteredbyaUMSEPstudentmaynotexceedtwothirdofthetotalcredithoursofthegraduatingstudent.(e)IfaUMSEPstudentisadmittedonanauditbasis,he/shecanonlyattendlecturesandnotallowedtositforanexamination.4.APPLICATIONFORADMISSION(a)ApplicationfromChinaforadmissionasaUMSEPstudentmustbesubmittedtotheOffshoreOffice(China,Beijing),UniversityofMalayaatleastthree(3)monthspriortothebeginningofeachsemesterordateofattachment.第3页共6页第2页共6页编号：时间：2021年x月x日书山有路勤为径，学海无涯苦作舟页码：第3页共6页(b)Thestudentisresponsibletoobtainfromtherespectivefacultie...
