The experimental results showed that BiOX had a good photocatalytic effect on the degradation of carbamazepine. When the mass concentration of BiOX was 0.05 g/L and the light exposure time was 240 min, the degradation rate of carbamazepine was the highest, reaching 76.5%. In addition, we also evaluated the biological effects of BiOX on human skin keratinocytes. The experimental results showed that when the concentration of BiOX was 5 mg/mL, the activity of human skin keratinocytes was minimally affected, and the survival rate was above 95%. In summary, the results of this study showed that BiOX can effectively degrade carbamazepine in water and has minimal biological effects on human skin keratinocytes.Keywords: BiOX; carbamazepine; photocatalytic; biological effects; skin keratinocytes
