It aims at enabling those who take this course to understand the basic similarities and differences between English and Chinese, on the basis of which it helps students construe the fundamental law of E-C translation as well as grasp the basic skills of E-C translation so that they will at the end of the course be able to translate into proper Chinese English passages or paragraphs on familiar topics at the medium difficulty level.
