The main purpose is to study the reconstructed meson spectrum, hadron spectrum, and accurately measure the τ particle physical quantities. As one of the cores of BESⅢ, the accuracy of the drift chamber's position and momentum information plays a decisive role in the credibility and repeatability of experimental results. This article aims to study the operational performance of the drift chamber, including the impact of drift time and drift speed on position measurement errors, the impact of calibration and alignment, and the mechanism of noise generation and the impact of noise on position measurement, etc. Some conclusions and suggestions were obtained through experimental and simulation methods, such as increasing the purity of the working gas of the drift chamber, optimizing calibration and alignment methods, and increasing the vacuum degree of the drift chamber, which can effectively improve the measurement performance of the drift chamber and have a positive impact on the reliability and accuracy of experimental results.Keywords: BESⅢ experiment; drift chamber measurement; operational performance; noise research
