With the advent of aging, the incidence of postoperative cognitive dysfunction in the elderly continues to increase. In order to explore solutions to postoperative cognitive dysfunction in the elderly, this study selected sevoflurane for pre-treatment. Through experiments on aged rats, the incidence of postoperative cognitive dysfunction was observed and compared before and after sevoflurane pre-treatment, and the cognitive function levels before and after sevoflurane pre-treatment were compared, in order to evaluate the effect of sevoflurane pre-treatment on postoperative cognitive dysfunction in the elderly. The results of the study showed that sevoflurane pre-treatment can effectively reduce the incidence of postoperative cognitive dysfunction in the aged rats, and also help improve postoperative cognitive function. Therefore, sevoflurane pre-treatment can be used as a method for treating postoperative cognitive dysfunction in the elderly.Keywords: aging, postoperative cognitive dysfunction, sevoflurane pre-treatment, rat experiment
