The RAFT (reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer) polymerization technique has been widely used in the synthesis of high molecular weight polymers. In this study, the RAFT method was used to synthesize non-conjugated ethylene-based monomer hyperbranched polymers and characterize their properties.Firstly, suitable monomers and RAFT initiators were selected based on literature and sample analysis. The polymer molecular weight and molecular weight distribution were controlled by adjusting the reaction conditions. Then, the synthesized hyperbranched polymers were characterized by peak separation and nuclear magnetic resonance techniques. Finally, the thermal stability, interfacial activity and solubility of hyperbranched polymers were discussed.Keywords: hyperbranched polymer; RAFT polymerization; property characterization; synthesis.
