As a renowned writer, Ye Zhaoyan’s works are also acclaimed in the industry of film and television. In 2007, Suzhou Funa Cultural Technology Co., Ltd. has revised Ye Zhaoyan’s novel “Flower Shadow” for the TV series “Windy & Moon•Flower of Evil”. In the process of adapting “Flower Shadow” from a novel to a TV series, its characters, plots, images, and themes have all altered. The reasons for the discrepancy are incarnated in the differences in the namely aesthetic culture environment, Ye Zhaoyan’s creative style of “New Historical Novels”, and the TV drama creative strategies of the company. The adapted TV series improved positive energy of original works, advocated the good of humanity and patriotism of Chinese people, which makes characters more popularized and suitable for public appreciation of art.
