To review and consolidate the relative pronouns.课堂 互动探究定语从句(II)1. 关系副词 when, where,和 why 的用法when, where 和 why 均可用作关系副词，三者在引导定语从句时，既起连接作用，又代替表时间、地点和原因的名词，在从句中作状语。(1)when 指时间，在从句中作时间状语，其先行词通常是表示时间的名词。e.g①Do you still remember the afternoon when you first came here? 你还记得你第一次来这儿的那个下午吗？②He came at a time when we needed him most.他在我们最需要的时候来了。(2)where 指地点，在从句中作地点状语，其先行词通常是表示地点的名词。e.g.①This is the place where we first met. 这就是我们第一次相遇的地方。②I recently went back to the town where I was born. 我最近曾回过一次我出生的城市。注：▲where 的 先 行 词 不 只 是 明 显 的 地 点 名 词 ， 还 可 以 是 模 糊 的 抽 象 名 词 ， 如situation，case，point 等。e.g.This is the point where I disagree with you.这就是我不同意你的地方。(3) why 指原因或理由，在从句中作原因状语，其先行词为 reason 一词。e.g.①I don’t know the reason why he came so late. 我不知道他来那么晚的原因。②He didn’t tell me the reason why he was so upset. 他没有告诉我他为什么那么心烦意乱。③I didn’t get a pay rise, but that wasn’t the reason why I left. 我是没有加工资，但这不是我要离开的原因。(4) 关系代词和关系副词的选择当先行词是表示时间的 time，day 等、表示地点的 place， house 等和表示原因的reason 时，一定要注意分析从句的结构。如果缺少主语或宾语，关系词应用关系代词 that 或which，如果缺少时间状语、地点状语或原因状语，才能用关系副词 when、where 或 why。e.g.I’ll never forget the days when we spent our holidays together.
