Lesson 3 The Sea World 一．知识点精讲（一），重点词汇1. present---- presence n. 反：absent①. adj. 在场的，出席的(作定语或表语) People present at the meeting were mostly scientists from different parts of the world.②. adj. 现在的，目前的(作定语) The present situation here is getting worse and worse.③. n. 目前，现在 At present, our room is big enough.④. vt. 送给，赠与，呈交 The children presented flowers to the teachers.⑤. vt. 提出（论点，看法） He presented his view and then sat down.短语拓展：be present at 缺席的，不在场的be present in 存在于be absent from 缺席，不在场at the present 当前，目前present sth to sb 把某物赠送给某人，向某人呈送某物present sb with sth 把某物赠送给某人in the presence of 在。。。在场的情况下注意：Present 作形容词“在场的，出席的”的讲时，作定语从句置于被修饰的名词之前，而 present 作形容词“现在的，目前的”讲时，作定语置于被修饰的名词之前，如：What’s the number of the people present at the meeting?He is pleased with this present job.2、energetic ①adj. 有活力的 The child is quite energetic.② energy n.. 精力误区点拨：Energy , power , strength 与 force (1) energy 主要指人的精力，自然界的力、能源等。如：old though he is ,be still has much energy to work 12 hours a day . 尽管年纪大，他仍然有足够的精力每天工作 12 小时。Electrical energy raises and lowers elevators .用心 爱心 专心1电能使电梯升降。（2）power 主要指做一件事所依靠的能力、功能、人或机器等事物潜在的或所能发挥出来的力量、职权、权力或政权。如：Water power creates electric power . 水力能产生电力。（3）strength 常指固定潜在的力量，就人来说，着重指力气，就物来说，着重指潜力等。如：We don’t know the strength of their team .我们不知道他们队的实力。（4）force 主要指暴力，势力，说服力，压制力，法律、道德或感情的力量，总之，它是活动过程中的力。如：The police had to use force when they took him to the police ...
